Funny you should say that. I was wondering what their fans were thinking, so I started lurking on a Chargers message board. As expected, there were mixed reviews. Most were of the sentiment that Rivers is 'just as good as Brees', but because the Saints have better receivers, the perception is that Brees is the better QB. Whatever... Colston, Shockey, Henderson, Moore, Thomas, none of them would be nearly as effective in San Diego, or with Philip Rivers. Now you bring Jackson, Gates (and its been proven with Gates) Davis, i cant remember the other guys, Nane maybe if i got his name right, would all be superstars with Brees, even though Gates already is one. As a matter of fact, i would even go as far as to say, that every receiver on the Saints would be mediocre at best with any other quarterback. Its like Dilfer and Steve Young were saying, Drew Brees throws receivers open, has there ever been a more effective back shoulder throwing quarterback in the league? Brees doesn't always hit a guy in stride, but its because he isn't trying to, he is putting the ball exactly where the defense cannot pick the ball off. He is an aggressive safe quarterback if that makes sense. when brees first got here i was comparing his accuracy to warner in his prime. kurt warner was scary accurate with the rams, video game accurate with consistency. drew is like that now and after shoulder surgery on his throwing shoulder, truly amazing. trent dilfer needs to slap hasselback around. seriously, were any of the saints WR's big names? would guys like devery and lance moore have the same role on any other team?? meachem might be out of the NFL if he was on some other squad. don't eff with the breesus.
I was actually referring to his christian views, being a great family man and just what a great ambassador he is for the NFL.
