You know who gets enraged over desecrations and political protests? Third world idiots and totalitarian governments. Please do not paint the counter protest asa simple shouting down. There were threats of physical violence which are in no way justified by Hass excersicing his rights.

That's not what I said at all. I said it stands for much more than freedom of speech. And I reject the notion that burning the symbol of countless virtues is respectful of one of them.

Why don't we ask some of the military men in our forum how they feel about this.

Interesting notion, considering the concept of burning the American flag pretty much started with Iranians during the hostage crisis, who burned our flag to show how much they hate "American style freedom." Is that what you really want to advocate?

    Futurama? OK:

Unnamed Juror: Are you sure you're an American?

The Fonz: Right down to my red, white and blue socks. :D

There were police there monitoring the situation. He was escorted away in a police car for his safety and he didn't even light the flag on fire. I would say it is fair to say he was almost attacked. Just because you agree with them doesn't change the fact that there was a mob trying to interfere with a peaceful protest. Being jostled around is okay when you're trying to get into or out of tiger stadium, not when you're trying to prevent someone from a peaceful protest.

All of the groups involved were idiots. however, I'm sure there were some people who went trying to be peaceful and they were overshadowed by others who were being aggressive.

Agreed, they absolutely interfered with a protest. For the record, I would preferred them ignoring it. However, they were well within their rights to interfere.

You mean liberals who want to manage every aspect of industry and our personal lives? Almost like a totalitarian regime. Pretty much what I said.

Well I certainly can't make you understand the concept of freedom, and how excercising freedoms is the absolute best way to celebrate that we have them.

Why are there opinions of any more value?

Ummm have you ever heard of the 1960s? It was a time period when bunches of dumb hippies burned flags for all sorts of reasons. Have you ever heard of the Decemberists revolution? A period in the early 20th century where czarists russian flags were burned in huge protests.

That was one of the most peaceful protest I have seen. Water Balloons and words like daggers are childs play. Come on no shields, tear gas, etc... Vicious
