This is correct, plug a good/workman like RB in at LSU (Hester, Scott, Ridley) and they will succeed behind a good Oline, put defensive playmakers behind a good Dline (Sheppard, Steltz, Tyrann, etc, etc, etc,) and they will succeed. Same at Bama and other top programs.

Another good example if the Saints, Brees gets a lot of credit, as he should, but he doesn't get hit much and RBs have success behind a studly Oline. Same in Indi, NE, Pitt, Baltimore. The good franchises build around solid lines.

I'm not sold on the Tide OL, and their defense is still not good at getting turnovers. The Tide had one INT vs Kent State. That's it. Contrast that with LSU's defense, which generated 1 INT and 3 fumble recoveries vs a much better team in Oregon.

It was Kent State. No need to look too deep into anything.

Besides, with just about every RB we have being either a former Blue Chipper and Sophomores or younger, who cares about Lacy?

Couldn't Bama do better than Kent State for their opening game?:rolleye33:

HMMMMM now that it's now Penn state...not kent state here are the totals through two games for you!!

Trent richarson 39 carries for 155 yards thats 3.98yards per carry 5-td"s
Eddie Lacy 19 carries for 147 yards, that's an average of 7.74yards per carry 1-td. Spoon feed richardson the td's to make him look better.

Oh and by the way just talking about how a louisiana by could be outshinning a supposed heisman hopefull at bama!!

Eddie lacy is indeed the real deal. Big back with happy feet and seems to get the most out of a small opening. Great spin move and nice acceleration. Not much not to like. Still think Trent is dealing with a physical issue. Coach Saban will be the last to say, but he had an earlier issue in fall camp with a hamstring. Just not his explosive self yet.

I would bet that this years iron bowl will be a good one. Au will want revenge for it's trees and bama will want to erase the deeply humiliating loss from last year. I mean damn , to go up 24 points to have your lead evaporate in front of your very eyes. The slow rape of the vaunted bama defense by au was a pleasure to see.
By no means was I happy that auburn won. I wasn't happy that auburn won the nc, just glad it was an sec team. It's sort of like stepping in dog chit. You're not happy about doing it but damn glad you did have your shoes on and wasn't barefoot.
Then you have the typical gump, upset at the humiliation of their team and the deflowering of their great saban engineered defense, poison the chit paper trees that au loves so much.
To add the icing on the cake, both will be fighting for second in the west after the asz whipping that lsu put on them just a couple weeks before. Both trying to salvage their second best season.
This is the first year I will be looking forward to the ironbowl.:geauxtige

I think their D is legit. Their run game is legit ...but their QB has not been tested on an SEC pass defense. I'll hold off being sold till after the AL/AR game.
