They want controversy though. 8 teams makes way too much sense for college football. People will argue that 8 teams will water down the regular season and I think that's bullshit, they already threw out the importance of the regular season in 2011, so to me, it doesn't matter. 8 teams is the way to go, but I just don't see the powers that be adapting that.
They may eventually and you're right it will be because of the money to be made, but I would get used to this format for awhile.
