1. First, by units:
Quarterback - D (although I have seen McMillan play and he could be one to watch, he is a RS guy so no immediate help. You don't win 2 state titles in the highest classification of Texas by being a "game manager"...I have watched the guy in 3 games...underrated....but still....)
RBs - A+ (hard to imagine anyone having a better RB class)
OL - A+ (hard to imagine more than 2 or 3 teams having a better OL class)
    WRers - A
TE - ???? (doesn't matter until LSU starts throwing to them)
DL - B- (DT not a position of great need which is why I think Mack was only one offered...DE would one of some need and 2 is about the minimum required...Key saved this area with his commit)
    LB - F- 'nuff said
Secondary - A+ (Toliver, Jackson, Lewis, etc)
Special Teams - A (great punter, best long snapper in HS)

Overall - A- (top 5 class overall but geez, I can't give them a solid A without signing any LBers at a huge position of need)

  3. A good recruiting class today with some very nice grabs but another year goes by and Miles fails, once again, to address QB. Not trying to discount McMillan, who I have never seen play. He may have the potential you describe. But also have to agree that there is no immediate help and no top flight QB at LSU. At some point you have to stop what you're doing and address the elephant in the room. Maybe there is a surprise player sitting out there that no one knows about.

If Jennings gets trotted out there as a starter next year I may have to quit watching TV on Saturdays until 2016.
  4. You don't say, I seem to remember a kid not long ago, played HS ball in Tx, in Houston if memory serves. Tore it up, highlight film for days of him throwing pass after pass.

Can't remember his name but I'm sure he was a 5* highly rated guy.

  6. subtle humor/sarcasm is not your strong point.

    (psst, he knew)

qb? we dont need no stinkin' qb!
  7. You know you two, that one flew right over me, okay....had a blonde moment for a little bit with keeping up with everything else...

  8. We certainly didn't use one last year.

  9. blonde moment. oh thats good.
  10. Russell Shepard but I have to really disagree with you here. Yes, he was a 5* QB/Ath, but do you know how many schools promised him a chance to try out for QB? 1...it was LSU. I don't know if you saw the Under Armour game QB skills test a few days before the game. It was embarassing. I could have done better...NOT kidding. His distance passes fluttered like shot ducks and finished last in that. Then the test came where the vehicle pulls the bullseye target behind it. I don't know if he hit one of them out of several and he got behind in running from spot to spot...sounds like a slow release to me. RS had 0% chance of ever being a college QB. LSU of course knew that but true to their word, they gave him a chance to fail...which he did of course.
