@uscvball John Deacon is a very under appreciated bassist, IMO. He and Brian May definitely belong in this thread.

I don't mind putting Money in my top dozen bass riffs. Bass riffs . . . . not bass solos . . . not bass lines, those are other lists.

    1. Peter Gunn -- Henry Mancini -- unknown session bassist
    2. Taxman -- Beatles -- Paul McCartney
    3. Low Rider -- War -- BB Dickerson
    4. Sunshine of your Love -- Cream -- Jack Bruce
    5. Jumpin Jack Flash -- Stones -- Bill Wyman
    6. Hey Bulldog -- Beatles -- Paul McCartney
    7. California Girls -- Beach Boys -- Carol Kaye
    8. Money -- The Floyd -- Roger Waters
    9. Green Onions -- Booker T and the MGs -- Duck Dunn
    10. Psycho Killer -- Talking Heads -- Tina Weymouth
    11. Come Together -- Beatles -- Paul McCartney
    12. 25 or 6 to 4 -- Chicago -- Petera Cetera

  7. LaSalleAve

    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

Les Claypool and Flea would be my best 2 bass players of all time. Higher Ground has an insane bass line.

  8. COramprat

    COramprat Simma Da Na

Steve Harris and Dave Murray...couldn't find the lead with the bass but the song is on You Tube.
