    Losing 58-0 in front of your own fans is an embarrassment. His players were no longer responding to him. An interim coach might be able to salvage something out of the dumpster this season has become. Give the interim a chance to audition and puts coaches on notice there is a job opening at the U. After yesterday firing Golden was the only move they could make.

    I don't think so. They would be ineligible receivers downfield if it was a fake punt and a pass. If it was a run, they could block downfield. The NFL has a rule that linemen cannot go downfield before the punt, but not in college that I know of.

    Oh, they most certainly can be fired for not getting the job done; however, I don't see it happen often (if ever) on teams that are 7-0 and ranked #4.
