  6. It's an interesting phenomena reading threads around the 'net about this story. It may be out there, but I haven't seen anyone ask "why was there a gun in the car?" Or, "what does a college kid need a gun for?"

  8. Different laws in every state. Simply put, in Louisiana your car is regarded much like your home. That's the simplest way I know to define how it's written.

  9. I carried in my car when I was a college student. The shooting occurred on 68th street, a very bad part of town. I would never go up there unarmed.

    In Louisiana you don't need to have a permit to carry unless you carry concealed. It is legal to have a firearm in your car, same as in your house.
