I'll always remember that without the hiring of Oeaux to replace Miles 2019 would have never happened.

It's a shame but reality. We all know the guy who just ain't cut out to keep the nice corner office.
    That was Ed.
The timing also tells me The Woodman has a fish on the line. Start tracking the TAF jet.

Its not want as much as need. Wanted him to succeed but when he couldnt, needed him to step down. Needs and wants do not always align...

Guess that applies to head coaches also. Ed Orgeron-one of only 5 active head coaches with a National Championship. How many HC's get fired with a 49-17 record?

Not a big enough marlin for The Woodman boat.

Its always a sad tale when someone you like and want to succeed are brought down by their inability to control personal demons. It frequently looks incomprehensible from the outside. Jamarcus Russel had all the physical gifts needed, all he had to do was work at playing football. But he couldn't, and we can't understand why because it would not be work to us. And there are so many other examples in every part of human endeavor of people that should have done better - but didn't.

The best quote I know of that explains the difference between success and failure is by Calvin Coolidge.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated failures. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

O has all the skills needed to be what he always wanted to be. But he didn't have the determination to persistently control his personal demons when they impacted his job and his life. But he did give us 2019, and for that we should be thankful. And I hope he gets his personal life back together and live out his life happily on the bayou.
