I hear ya BUT---- all these years and never a defensive coordinator? He was a recruiting master. He could have talked Santa Claus into moving to Miami, but there's usually a reason the guy who never got the promotion doesn't get the promotion. At Lsu he was a feel good hire as HC. I was all for it. I felt he earned it but I woulda bet my house he wasn't going to be able to keep it.

If Ed didn't have the off the field issues he would probably be the HC in 2022.

Thanks, I was thinking of making a similar post. Coach Oeaux is only human and deals with issues that many of us do. It was pretty well known about who and what he is when he was hired.

Agree. One of the most common times people fall back to their 'demonic behavior' is when they feel overwhelmed or not capable of doing what they know is needed. O was always over his head with this job. The National Championship really was a sort of beautiful perfect storm.

We will lose current and future players which is the worse thing when a coach is let go especially a players coach which is what O was. Hopefully the new coach can fill that inevitable void.

I loved having a diehard Tigers fan for our coach. So I am sad to see this happen but understand that his management skills are not to the level we need. Hopefully, this is all part of a master plan by Woodward to get us back up to our usual level and allows O to move out gracefully.

Recruiting getting f’d is inevitable tragedies of war when having to make a coaching change . That’s why we better stop having to do it every Olympic year .
