Yeah. The coaching experts here have really shown they can spot a bad coach from a mile away.

It will be interesting to see how Brady handles this season after a highly successful season last year and high expectations this year. I would love to see another run to the final 4.

I am not 100% sold on Brady. It always seems that his teams start out slow each year and he does just enough at the end of the year to save his job or he has one big year and the next is a trip to the NIT. He is definetly getting the job done with bringing in recruits, so I hope this is a sign that we will be a NCAA team each year.

Enlighten us please. Exactly what would he have to do for you to be "sold" on him? He won a very tough SEC conference championship. He beat Duke in the tournament, for crying out loud. His recruiting is, and always has been, excellent. Is a National Championship your sole criteria?

I am not saying he didn't do a good job last year. I am just saying that he has never followed a great year with another great year. Either LSU barely makes it into the NIT or loses in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Brady has been at LSU for 8 years and has only had 2 season above .500 in the SEC. Yeah sure he beat the rent-a-wins most of the time, but everyone focuses on how well you do in your conference. Most of the time it seems that Brady gets off to a slow start and does just enough to save his job at the end of the year (not including last year). I am not saying he is a bad coach, but I would like to see our conference record improve and for LSU to be make it to the big dance year after year and not lose in the 1st round.

My comment about recruiting was focused at the LSU recruits that are begining to commit from outside of Louisiana. Butch Pierre is a great recruiter and has really helped LSU get these top recruits to LSU.

I must laugh about the title of this thread, only because it comes up like clockwork.

ok your point doesnt really make since considering 04-05 was considered a pretty good year and then last year i think we can all agree was a pretty damn good year.

It depends on your perspective. If you want a decent basketball program that pops its head up from time to time on the national scene, then Brady is your man. He's done a great job in that respect (see final four and sweet 16 appearances in his 9 year reign). I assume you are one of those that are thrilled if we can just make it to a final four every 10-12 years or so. And that's fine. He floats your boat. It works for you.

Most LSU fans, however, would like to see LSU be a nationally recognized basketball program that consistently vies for the SEC's best record, and makes a exciting push in March, more times than not.

I think this will be a telling year as to which direction the program is going. It wasn't like we were a dominating powerhouse last year. In fact, we were the cinderella team of the tourney, playing our best ball of the year when it counted. Now is the time to expand on this success and take the program forward to new heights. I would love to see Brady do something Dale Brown couldn't quite accomplish...make LSU an elite basketball program.

I hope he is the answer. I am just not sold that he is.

I think George Mason fans may disagree with you.
