May have been Shula's players...but Shula would have never been in the situation to win that game--everyone knows that. Everyone questioned the FG when Saban ran the unit out for the kick, but it proved to be the best move. The playcalling was 100x better, instead of "Grant up the middle" the whole game...
How in the hell did Shula ever get Bama to a New Years day bowl as bad as you claim he was? From the way some of you talk you shouldn't have won a game while he was coach!
Get over it and live with it because you are probably going to hear it a lot over the next two years on this board. All we have heard from you Bama fans and Nick is how Les is winning with Nick’s players. Les is now 25 -4 in 2 ¼ seasons at LSU. Even with “Nick’s” players, Nick never did that. Time will tell, but I think you may find that Nick is very good at taking a program on hard times and turning it around, but when the challenge is gone his efforts are directed to finding another challenge. That is what happened at Michigan State (he got them as far as he could and left), LSU (he resurrected our program and built he reputation to get himself a shot at the NFL), then Miami (when the formula did not work, he sprinted back to college to take over another resurrection project and to repair his reputation). Enjoy the ride while it last. But Bama fans are the ones who started this “winning with Nick’s players” crap, which was really distasteful – especially during recruiting last winter.
