PAC-10 has 4 teams in the top 25, ACC has 3....SEC has no depth?? how bout 6 teams in top 25. That dudes a idot...
I definitely think that Chevis will end up at least on that list, hopefully in first round (though that is biased because I played high school ball with him at St. Paul's in Mobile)
Aside from teams ranked right now... Even some of the bottom teams in the SEC, such as Ole miss always have great recruiting classes. There might be some coaching issues, but (as much as it hurts me to say) there is a decent amount of talent. especially as compared to outside the SEC
The thing about the SEC this year is that there aren't as many REALLY GOOD teams as you usually see, but there are a lot more PRETTY GOOD teams. Tennessee, Georgia, and Auburn are all a little lower than you usually see them, but Kentucky, Vandy, USC, and maybe even MSU are surging forward a bit. The result is that we see 2 elite teams in Florida and LSU and then about 6 or 7 teams who are all about even, starting with Georgia and USC and going all the way down to Vandy and maybe MSU, and even Ole Miss was able to give a really good team a scare. There just aren't any weak sisters in the SEC this year.
LSU and USC appear to be the cream of the crop this year... perhaps by a significant margin... then you have the "We're just hoping" teams like Florida, Oklahoma, WV.... then the "If things go right" teams like Cal, Oregon, Ohio State, even Boston College at this point.... After that it's a pure crapshoot... if any of the next 25 teams played each other... any of them... you might get a 5 point spread from Vegas one way or another. Plus we're only 1/3rd through the season... too early to tell how much cream had separated from the milk.... and if one spends any time espousing the rise of football in the State of Mississippi, I would wonder if they even have a cow to milk.
okay, so we agree that LSU and Fla and So California are the cream of the crop in the 2 conferences. Those 3 are pretty much even steven. The second-tiered teams in the SEC are Ga, Ala, Ky, Tn, Arky, Auburn, South Carolina. ALL of those teams either are ranked or have been ranked in the Top 20 this season. The Pac-10 has had UCLA, Oregon and Cal ranked in the Top 20 so far. That is 7 to 3 and a pretty big difference. SEC is far superior! FAR!
So did Louisville. Cal and Oregon will play an exciting scorefest against each other this weekend...but if they ever play a real defense...lookout...exposure.:thumb: One dimensional teams are always eventually exposed.
take away my testicles and penis and I am a Rebel. if ifs and buts were candies and nuts we'd all have a great f'n xmas!:cuss:
Hey bootsy, how does the fact that the SEC has more teams factor in to this analysis? And Auburn and Tennessee are not second-tiered teams. They're 2-2 after four games. I don't know if Auburn would win 3 games if they played the round robin format in the Pac. Tennessee, they'd get beat by 3 other teams too.
