http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/specials/sec/alltime.html This is cool. You can also vote. I'm happy Tommy Casanova is in there with 2 other Tigers. This brings a lot of attention to the rich history of SEC football.
They have the punter stats wrong. LSU had a punter in Gerry Dinardo's first year that averaged over 50 yards a punt for the season. They have exactly one LSU defensive payer to choose from, Casanova. No Leonard Marchall, Warren Capone, Ramsey Dardar, A. J. Duhe, or Chad Lavalais.
way too few choices there. i thought lsu punter kessler had the sec (and maybe natl) record for avg yds / punt at over 50? im almost certain. the caveat is that lsu used a separate poocher that year---anyone remember his name?
Definitely a fun site to mess around with. There have been some great players through the years. I thought their selections were pretty fair, though I would have included Kennison or Faulk on special teams. And I would have had Laron on there for safety. That's nitpicking though. Oh, and Cecil Collins, though it's almost impossible to argue against Walker and Bo.
I'll give you that. Teague ranks just as high in my book. Castille should have a look as well. It's a fan poll...don't expect it to be accurate, right?
