  1. Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown

I probably had it at about 20 percent heading into this weekend.

It might double by weekend's end.

I still say we are a longish shot, but the gap could close a bit.

My gut says Kansas State or Miami.

We're within about 10% of each other. Not bad!:thumb:
  3. Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown

Here's why I think Brown will end up at Tiger.

Oregon will never get past USC, so forget about a Nation Championship, Oregon wont even win the Pac-10.

Kansas State has no hope of winning the Big 12....Period....Donezo.

Tennessee can offer him some early playing time, but they are far removed from being a powerhouse in the SEC. Monte Kiffin should make the defense better, but, Bryce plays running back. As far as Lane goes, hes been a literal train wreck since he stepped on campus.

Bryce has already stated that he doesn't want to go to a place where the program is depending on him. (Check For LSU)

And if the guy Brian Butler is at all dirty, it puts more pressure on the Brown family to get away from Miami, as it would be certainly cause for further investigation if he went through all this to then pick Miami. It would be obvious that Butler only did this to use Bryce Brown's stardom to attact attention to his web site.

We also have Shepard and Randle. Don't for one second think that these kids don't watch each others highlights. LSU is the only place Brown can come to to get the "Primetime" exposure that Bryce will recieve at LSU. (ESPN and CBS, in the SEC al day Long)

Lastly, it's crazy that many just assume that Butler is up to no good. If the kid was ready to be at Miami, he would be there. I really don't think he's in town ths weekend as a ploy. And once he walks into Tiger Stadium, Im sure he'll start to envision himself in Baton Rouge. Brown is a great talent, and I'm just excited that we are in the running.

Shepard, Randle and Brown could turn Baton Rouge (and the college football world) upside down!!!

    Heres to wishful thinking.

    Oeaux Pheaux Sheaux!!!!!

    Geaux Tigers

Poor examples? Just because Brown is visiting after NSD doesn't mean he hasn't had us on his radar...He has a brother that almost pick us last year, remember?

Benton going to AU was out of nowhere, nowhere...Yes he visited..but Dude, he was committed to LSU for 2 years..don't make me break this one done for you..

Bell, was never going to Alabama until it looked like Randle was coming
Jackson..give me a break...He was a commitment since last march!!!

Tennessee was late... Dude, they just got a new staff!!!! And if his dad didn't end up at Ohio and friends with O, we don't loose him.. the day after NSD..that's late notice IMO

Pratt, freaking came to LSU to enroll and left mad, (who really knows the story?) basically drove straight to OSU and enrolled, that's freaking Late..OSU didn't even recruit this kid...if they did, it went unnoticed by me

It think my examples are valid

Our chances of getting Brown are valid as well
  5. Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown

Point of fact, there is a great deal of evidence that he has not. Like....his quotes or the outright absence of them.

I also have a house in Ruston and know plenty of people from Bastrop. You are out of your depth here.

A case where you need to do better research. Plenty of rumblings about Bell months before NSD. His interviews after the fact also indicate this was not a decision out of the blue.

And yet another case where you need to do better research. Post NSD interviews with Jackson and he admits changing his mind after his visit, but deciding to keep it to himself. The main reason given for looking elsewhere was the loss of family in the area.

    You can't see this??

The fact that his high school coach has connections to OSU indicate that it did get by you, and most everyone else. But it doesn't mean that they came out of nowhere.

It's a free country, but each one of your examples have proven to be weak at best. In no way do they resemble the recruitment of Brown.

I didn't say that we did not have a chance at Brown, even though I believe we will not land him. I said you putting a % on that chance is based on absolutely nothing except wishful thinking. There are no facts or statements from Brown or Brown's camp to support any %, much less 50%.

  7. Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown

Miami has rescinded their offer to him - directly from the mouth of a guy in the UM athletic department
  8. Re: 2009 1/2 RB Bryce Brown
