1. Pre-series quote from the Nova Coach –
This may have been posted previously (it is from the Villanova sports web page ----

Villanova head coach Joe Godri said. "In LSU we have a team that is one of the three crown jewels of college baseball. If you were going to rattle off the three teams that come to mind when you think of college baseball, LSU, Texas and Arizona State are going to be mentioned in every conversation."

    :eek:ldskule:
  2. Wow. Nice quote, but I would bet the folks at USC would be a little put off by that....and I wouldn't blame them.
  3. I might think Miami or Stanford before Arizona State.

  4. USC hasn't been relevent since they dominated a bunch of nobodies in the 70s.
  5. I think they were the only college baseball program when they had their run.
  6. For a long time College Baseball was all USC and Texas.
Then in the 1980s things started to open up.
    :eek:ldskule:
  7. One could also argue that Miami is a consistent top contender with 4 national championships and 11 CWS appearances in the last 15 years (yes, I googled.) Add the new A-Roid stadium to the mix and they are right up there with LSU and Texas.

When I was in Omaha in 2004 we were sitting next to a few Miami fans explaining to someone from Omaha that they were like the Yankees of college baseball. Without missing a beat the Omaha native responded, "Oh, so you pay your players really well." My friends and I would not stopped laughing and gave the guy a big high five. They love us in Omaha.
  8. Just a bit.

One might ask Godri who is the only person with a permanently dedicated seat in Omaha. If you don't know Dedeaux, you don't know much.

Absolutely. Cal State Fullerton as much as Stanford, Miami. Arizona as much as ASU. Really too many great teams over the years to narrow it to 3 IMO.
  9. There might be more than three, but LSU is no. one, two or three. Cali can argue about who falls in line next.
After all, we're talkin B Ball not V ball !

    Right Sabanfan?
  10. Yo!
