That would be the best thing but it will not happen because LSU would loose one OOC game that is normally at home and that would lead to big difference in money compared to having a game at home against a lesser school.

Not with 12 games... conference is 4 away, 4 home, 4 non conference.. usually those 3 non conference game are at home, so 7 at home covers the budget.. adding a 12th game adds the ability to do a home and home without going below the money that the school made with 11 games.

yeah I think your misunderstanding what everybody is saying. A 12th game would allow us to schedule a home and home. I would want a team that we can sign a long term contract with but thats to risky nowadays. We need a short contract so we can schedule someone else if they suck.

a$m wants absolutely no part of LSU.

They will point to Joe Dean's ( Joe Dean may be the most tragic figure in LSU sports of all-time) backing out of the last two years of the last contract, but the real reason is the in-roads we've made in Southeast Texas recruiting. When the monosyllabic lemmings were pulling in an occasional Johnny Hector-type, they couldn't wait to play LSU. Now that the Houston-Beaumont area is basically "in-state" for LSU AND Oklahoma, thus a legitimate threat that win National Championships and alternative for high school players, the "frightened texas aggies" want nothing to with a series, be it Houston, New Orleans, Tigertown, their toilet, or Dallas.

I would like to see Rice back on the schedule.

a$m is making noise about playing an SEC team, however. Coach Fran seems to have taken things said in Tusacloosa very personally.

    OK...Consider the following:

Current LSU Head Sean O'Keefe and ATM System President Robert Gates have a long time history...They both crossed paths during the BUSH #41 Administration when O'Keefe held various positions including Secretary of the Navy and Gates was the CIA Director

O'Keefe really wants to make this thing happen, and He will pursue the game with Gates until it is a done deal

Neither of these 2 individuals have any of the petty concerns about the historical relationship, so that is silly and not a factor at all

The 12 game season brings this thing into play, as both schools could still get their 7 home games each year no matter where this games is held

And Yes, I am partial to the Reliant location b/c I live 30 miles from Reliant, but a home and home would be just as likely, or maybe even the new stadium in Dallas in '09

Home and home would be great also if they can;t get the Reliant

OK, the 3rd week in September could equally suffice as the traditional rivalry timeframe

    BOOK IT BABY!

    Geaux Tigers!
