Look,
Herbie isn't perfect. He has made numerous comments bashing his own alma mater for cryin out loud. Like comparing us to a MAC TEAM for
#$%#@$%@#%#$%@#$%@$%^ sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's made the mistake that NONE OF US HAVE EVER DONE, doing what his boss tells him to do. I've heard so many times about the CLM to scUM story, you'd think he was the one trying to work out the contract. Fact of the matter is, that he's probably the most well informed of a group of hacks, that we ALL WATCH, and give license to by watching, so what do you expect? We encourage this kind of controversy stirring by visiting ESPN.com 5 times a day to read the story. Don't blame Herbie for doing his job, and reporting what he's told to report.
I realize that no one will give a crap about this fact, and will continue to hate him for that story. goes with the territory, and you're certainly entitled. just remember the next time your boss asks you to do something that you may or may not agree with or aren't sure about that he was in that situation, probably with a lot more on the table. ESPN wanted to be the first one to break the story, and
management took the chance, and left Herbie hanging out to dry, in my opinion.
As for this year's awards, I thought he was pretty fair and straightforward, and there are always discussions about these lists. Everyone has their preferences and opinions, and that's all they are, opinions.
All due respect to everyone who has been so gracious here, and there are several people that I don't include in this statement, but...
Why do SEC HOMERS always think there aren't any good players outside the SEC?
I've had a few beers tonight, but i must admit, i'm a little disgusted by it, and makes me hope for the almighty to send a little humility your way so you can see how it tastes.
again, apologies to anyone undeserving, but those who do deserve it know who you are!
opinions are like @ssholes, everyone's got one, and they all stink but yours
you don't have to agree, but if you can't respect other people's opinions, well, see the above sentence.
