Take out the 3 gimme wins ( Sam Houston St., New Mexico St., & Louisiana Monroe) , & we were 5-5 & only beat 1 team by 7 points or more. Very sad.
we have rentawins every year. so it all averages out the same. good thing we beat wisci and uf. les was doing a hell of a job with no qb for much of the season.
Cry me a river, every team plays cupcakes including each of the final four. We were 8-5, not 5-5. We played five ranked teams and beat two of them in a rebuilding year. Below average, sure. Nothing sad about it.
You could argue that 8-4 reg. season this year was a better accomplishment than 9-3 reg. season last year. Only one more win last year w/multiple NFL level talent on offense. You could say we comparably underachieved last year, but it had a sexier appearance.
