Yea, I know Kwon is needed where he is. It just seems like most years we have that one guy on D that is a leader and has swag.

    It was missing last year.

Well we had a guy who could read defenses and make defensive calls, and he was effective at that. He just wasn't as physical as Minter. I fail to understand why you don't appreciate the vital value of this on-field leadership. Chief does, fortunately.

Minter had a fabulous, All-American final year, but in his first year starting his stats fell a bit short of Welter's first year starting. 80 tackles to 60, 4 TBL to 3.5, 2 sacks to 1, each had 1 pass broken up. No reason to believe that Welter will not improve either. He may not look as ripped as Minter or hit like a truck and he may never be an All-American, but he got the job done, including the leadership part.

Don't like to hear different viewpoints? Don't read. Like the guy said, it's a forum for discussion.

IMO calling the plays doesn't make you a leader. Furthere. There were a number of times guys were out of position. I would also hope the starting MLB of LSU would know how to tackle. No one questions that......

The point is that he can tackle and the stats back it up. But we should drop it, Massa has his panties all in a wad.
