How is the job market for the IT field?

The reason I ask is because I am thinking of not re-enlisting and my date of separation is January 2012.

By the time I get out of the AirForce I will have my bachelors in Information Technology and Security Systems.

I really want to move back home to the Baton Rouge area, but there are a lot of things to consider. Any insight on the IT field around the Baton rouge/ New Orleans area would be very helpful.
