after his 200+ yard against Texas i've been hearing on radio shows and TV how awesome this kid is and that he should be considered for the Heisman.

i didnt get to watch the OU / Texas game but from the highlight runs i saw him make, the holes were big enough to drive a H2 through. was there something i missed?????

i'm sure AP is very good, and going to be a great player... just think he's getting alittle to much hype to soon.

I agree, could be one of the best if he stays healthy and happy in college - his instincts, his style, and his abilities are scary and they resemble an NFL Back at age 18...

    No hype, he's legit IMO.

I dont know but i sure know he doesnt have the lateral of movement that many of the great backs had but neither did emmitt smith so the jury is out on the guy til he faces real competition, not a mac brown coached team. however, UT's defense is no slouch at all. I'll let you know in a year or two.

I guess running thru people is easier than lateral movement

As long as he stays healthy and keeps his head in the books and in the game and out of trouble, he will break records by the time his college career is done.

Yeh the guy is amazing so far, I actually look forward to watching the guy play... He has amazing speed and he is big. In the UT game it would look like he would get dropped for a loss and just turn the corner...

    He is very solid...

it is if when they are arm tackling a lot as LSU did the first 4 games. Of course everyone thinks the guy is the next superstar RB....he ran for 200+ yards on National TV with everyone watching so the hype is blown out of proportion.

of course the guy has great talent, I was simply being objective with my untrained eye.

I could list a few backs for no-hype teams I see every week that are as impressive but hey, that's how casual fans and media work. They only watch the highly publicized teams and make general assessments. Same way the Heisman trophy works. best player on the most hyped team....almost never the best player in football.

Also, Texas is real competition on any day and in any year. What would this Peterson kid do to Utah?
