Will we have to interview a minorority? The last thing I want is some scandal due to the fact that we did not interview any minorities. I do not have a problem with an african american coach and it is a disgrace to this sport that their are not more african american head coaches, but I sure do not think we should just interview one and waste his time. I just want the best coach out there but I do not want any bad press for our school
There is no outside organization enforcing an interview like the NFL does, but we should interview some if they are capable and free.
Black candidates I really like and think should be given a fair shot at this job: Romeo Crennel Karl Dorrell Terry Robiskie No way in Hell: Doug Williams Jerry Baldwin Charlie Strong Bobby Williams Anybody else have any names they want to put in either category?
I fervently hope that Romeo Crennel makes Skip's short list, but I'm not really impressed w/ the job Karl Dorrell has done at UCLA.
Karl has not gotten the job done. I wouldn't support his candidacy, but I would end up supporting him if he were named coach. Hopefully, he won't. Granted, UCLA is hurting now and has been for awhile, but Karl has had a few years now to try to turn things around. It isn't happening. Last year, they had a QB controversy with Matt Moore. Moore finally told Karl to stick it and he is transfering to OSU. Yes, transfers happen all the time, but I just think the Bruin program has some issues.
Were there any minorities interviewed last time? Didn't really hear about any hispanic, native american, or handicapped coaches interviewed. Just hope it doesn't get all PC.
If we failed to interview a black coach it will get PC, promise you. Skip is way too smart to not have that planned out already. USC didn't have time because Spurrier dropped in their lap.
