I think all of us want to see him on punt returns and kick returns. They are just saying that we want a sure handed returner out there. Sure he scored on a kick return but Miles had reason to be wary of his hands throughout the season because of his problems dropping them in a game and in practice. I would love it if he scored 1 in 5 but if he fumbled 1 out of 5 that is a liability Tiger fans would not put up with.

I know Miles has worked with him and given him more reps in practice. I am pulling for him to be the return man next year.

This was particularly obvious in one game this past season, Miss St I think. I imagine that the coaches didn't mind this much when he was second string & playing in blowouts, but hopefully they will work with him to make sure this is not an issue this year. Despite some people's beliefs, Flynn is not a scrambler. He has straight line speed - can't make plays to get downfield but rather will pick a spot on the field and dash to it.

I haven't seen anything to really make me question these things, but then again I haven't seen anything to make me think these definitely won't be issues.

I've said this for a long time now.

I too am concerned about Flynn, but am glad he has the straight line speed to run. As long as he doesn't fumble, Russell made me a nervous wreck when he ran, his ability to pull it down and run will be preferable to throwing an INT into coverage. His Peach bowl passing was not impressive, but his running bailed us out. People forget how many dropped balls that were thrown directly to defenders in that game. Even though he is a senior he has very little game experience. It will be very important for us to win the first 3 or 4 games so he can gain confidence. Va Tech scares me a little because we play them early and they are usually a very solid team. If Ryan starts, the same thing goes, he has no experience at this level.

The cure for happy feet is more experience. He just doesn't have the playing time.

Also he has been playing mop-up duty mostly against beaten teams. He may have been instructed to tuck it and run rather than force it when the play is covered. The coaches want to get the game over and run out the clock with no chance of an interception or a sack.

I think it is very hard for anyone to come in and follow JR's footsteps. His long passes while on the run are lethal and he has shown on several occasions in being able to elude the defensive players that are about to tackle him. Flynn obviously has different styles and ability. While I don't expect Flynn to burn the opponents too much with the amazing long passes that JR did last season, if I am correct, Flynn has always been quite good on the shorter passes. The key on Flynn for this single year as a starter would be his decision making ability and ability to read defenses. With the running game expected to be stronger this coming year, that would help to put less pressure on Flynn , and allow him to gain more game experience and confidence. I really hope the offense remains dominating and explosive so as to allow Perrilloux to come in more often..he definitiely needs it as he barely touched the ball last season.

Actually until this past season, Flynn was more accurate on the long passes than Russell. Despite playing much fewer downs Flynn had more TD passes of forty yards or greater than Russell in the 05 season. Lets wait and see how he performs when he has the responsibilty of leading the team full time.

not bad... Steltz is real good... we all know that, and Curtis Taylor learned from the best. When we get Chad in here, i think it will be a strength.

It also helps when you have the corners we have.

nothing we all don't already know... He will see where he is drafted, then make an asking price.

I can say that asking price is expected to be more than he is going to get, so I think he will play next season.
