One thing about Flynn that is very important is that the young man is 23 years old. Being a fifth-year senior brings a lot of maturity to decision making skills. I'm sure everyone remembers what a cagey old vet named Matt Mauck brought to the huddle at 38 yrs-old (and I don't mean his walker).

With that said, it will not surprise me if we see some form of a 2-QB system used in order to make sure that RP has enough PT to be able to step in at any time. The last thing we need is a season like UGA where they went through 8 or 9 QBs due to the injury bug. By week 6, they were scouting the flag football fields looking for walk-ons.

I just talked to a friend of mine who is a student assistant and he seems to think that Eugene will be the main punt return man next year. Early needs to protect himself as the leader of the WR and Holliday is looking good and should get around 7 touches a game with a few coming as a return man on punts and kicks.

I will let yall know anything else I can get my hands on.

Jai would have been the punt returner LAST year had he not broken his hand, so I can believe that this is true.

I'd love to see Eugene or JMitchell returning the punts. Early is our #1 receiver and Trindon doesn't have the size to survive returning punts. I remember seeing that Jai and Jared were both very good in the open field in HS(take that with a grain of salt) from their highlight reels. Who will be the other KR(Trindon) now that Francis is gone, I don't want Early back there either but would be ok with it if it was our only choice. Wasn't Jared Mitchell doing some of that last year. This John Williams kid going to be a returner?

Thanks for all the insider info, it's greatly appreciated in CA!

You have to take into account that punt returning is much different than kick returning, the player doesnt have the same room to operate. I think elusiveness best describes punt returning, and I think Buster Davis had very good elusiveness, just look at his punt returns and that long TD against Arky. He avoids tackles very well. Not to mention you ARE going to get hit good in punt returning, harder than in kick returning, so I dont think Trindon's size is durable in punt returning. We'll see what happens, I have faith in our coaching staff, they'll find the best out there and put them in the right place.

Actually I knew it was a joke, but I've been hearing a lot wanting Trindon as a punt returner because he got speed. That's why I gave my opinion on the topic.:thumb:
