That was also mentioned in our conversation. His size will set him back a little but he will get signifcant PT at the position next year but used more for kickoffs. With his great speed and the speed of opposing special teams it will make for some incredible hits. I am not too worried about him getting hurt from them either because he just bounces off the hit.:hihi:

It will be interesting to see him later in his career with extra leg and upperbody muscle. I have a feeling he will be one of the all time great return men at LSU but maybe used with caution again this year.

But who knows, there is plenty of time for anyone one of these guys to win the battle for next year and with Eugene getting more playing time this year and much more the following we will need a well rested player like Holliday back there to take the slack of the other guys. He will bring the energy for the team.

I can see Trindon back on punt returns in certain situations if not full time. On average how many times does an opposing team punt during a game? 7-10 times. Well maybe with our defense 12-15.

I dont know about his elusiveness, but he looked like a sprinter to me, at least from the way he was used last year. Remember punt returns are different than kick returns. Just look at the successful PR we have had in the past years, Green and Davis, they both had great elusiveness plus speed.

I am still waiting on your sense of humor to show up (See comment on the walker). :nope: The point was that he was 25 yrs old when he led us to the crystal ball. The maturity of an older QB helps a young team. There have been a few guys that have played baseball right out of HS and then returned to the college ranks to play football. In general, these guys have been pretty successful leaders on the football field. (Wasn't Wenke almost 40 by the time he got out of FSU?:hihi:)

In summary, the older kid generally has some intangibles that the younger guy doesn't yet possess.

On throwing the long ball there are different ways it can be thrown and different qb's arm strength can dictate it.

With JR arm strength he often held the ball longer than he had too and could throw it a mile. But i think this led to some innacuracy on his part.

I actually like the way Flynn throws the long ball better with an earlier release and let the receiver adjust to it.

On the play against Auburn for Doucet if JR releases the ball sooner then the DB who was beat doesnt make up the ground and interfere.

With the speed at receiver just get the ball out there and let our receivers burn to get it.
