Is it a department issued weapon? Do you have a choice or do regulations make you carry the standard firearm for your department?

It’s issued. We just swapped from the Gen 4 22 to the Gen 5 17. I don’t think they let you choose, here. Since 9mm ammo is cheaper. I have a Gen 3 22 with a trigger job and extended mag release and slide release from the last Agency I worked. I got it when it was brand new and carried it for about 7 years when they went to the Gen 4. Got it for a decent price. I’d like to have the Glock 43 for off duty/concealed carry, but I’m El Cheapo, so I won’t ever buy one

Everyone was buying them 3 years ago. Along with the M&P Shield and XDs. I rarely carry when I’m not at work. My wife has a .380 bodyguard I’ll slip in my pocket if I feel the urge to carry a pistol.

Weren't there trigger problems with the body guard?

I've been tempted to buy a Shield but I don't shoot the handguns that I have so haven't pulled the trigger.
I know I should shoot my hand guns and I can walk out my back yard so no excuse.
