He's been on a tear lately. Has 4 homers over the last couple weeks. Been hitting for power. He batted 2nd most of last year and part of this one. They have such a solid lineup they can put anyone anywhere.

Altuve ended 48 for 99 almost 500 for the month. One hit shy of their all time record of 49 by Lance berkman. They pulled him after 6.

Tonight was a good indication where they stand. 2 of their best hitters on the dl but everyone had at least one hit by the 4th.

Up 9-2 in the 8th then the bullpen gave up 5 runs and football score they win 14-7.

Bregman has been pretty hot.

He was hot last August after initially struggling at the plate but he has been just average for most of the season. I keep hoping he will play the whole season like he does when he gets hot.

Bregman first ab was robbed ball caught at the 405 mark. Next at bat it cleared for his 12th homer. Numbers are getting close to last year's mark minus his babip.

If the Astros get shut out in their final 51 games, they will still score more runs than 72 teams have scored this decade, including the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 Astros (doesnt seem possible).

You can't throw the Astros strikes. They hit .403/.409/.745 on the first pitch of at-bats, the best in baseball by a lot. (League average is .346/.353/.589.) But if they miss the first pitch and you get ahead 0-1 -- welp, they're still the best in baseball by a lot, with an OPS after 0-1 more than 50 points higher than the next team. And if they miss thatpitch, they're still the best team in baseball. The only way to turn the Astros into an "ordinary" offense is to fall behind in the count against them, which, of course, is a stupid idea that makes no sense.
