That game was dissapointing, but it was obvious that Auburn wanted that game more than the Tigers. I don't mind losing so much, but the lack of intensity is what really bothers me. I thought the Oregon St game was a wakeup call for this team, but it wasn't. Lets hope this game will wake this team up. We are young and lacking leaderhsip on both sides of the ball. This team needs to come together fast.
You're dead on about the leadership thing. Marcus Spears call this 'his defense'. He hasn't made an impact play since the forced fumble against Oregon State. Its time for the upper classmen to step up and lead this team.
i agree about the intensity. We just looked like we didn't have it. So many missed tackles, people looked lazy.
maybe we were playing like our reputation from last year was going to win the game? IMHO, the OSU game and the AU game were horrible. maybe the players will now listen to the coaches and the players will get a bit of urgency since we can't depend on last year to win us any games. that is what happens with young kids sometimes...
The sun will rise tomorrow. Our Tigers will win big games this year. Disappointed ? Damn right ! IMHO, what we are seeing is a team searching for its identity and going through some growing pains. Trust me, this team learned alot about big time SEC football today and the same lessons would have been learned even if we had won in light of the fact that the game was so close. I have a feeling that things are coming together. Let's not start panicking and getting down on our boys. The team lost the game. Take any aspect of the game and if it had done better we would have won the game. The blame game isn't worth it. Go Tigers !
