i dont know that he has more opportunity to develop in school vs in the G league. competition is probably better there.
@jakeweingarten · 2h Virginia’s Tony Bennett, LSU’s Will Wade, and Miami’s Jim Larrañaga will complete virtual meetings today with ECU transfer Jayden Gardner, he told @Stockrisers . Gardner talked with Kevin Keatts and Eric Musselman yesterday. Decision approaching.
looks like the big 4 are announcing in order. watford one day, then smart the next day, maybe tomorrow thomas and probably days. wonder which one will be tomorrow.
today was days. he didnt say whether he will hire an agent or not. that seems to leave open the possibility of returning.
transfer target ECU double-double machine jayden gardner on LSU "LSU: “I just like the sense of urgency of saying how much they need me as a player and the impact I would make on the court. Also how much they can develop me and help me as a player. He has had guys that have done it before in their system make it. There's a lot of mutual interest. We have had zooms and our first one was Friday and we had one yesterday. The zoom went really well. We talked about usage rate, possessions, opportunity. They said they want to use me how they used Naz Reid and Trendon Watford. Just a lot of open space, freedom and a lot on me to go make basketball plays" he will decide monday wade can tell players that they play quick and let offensive players go to work. they have lots of possessions and high scores. last season they had a billion guys in double figures. wade finds enough basketballs to go around.
whats interesting and i think what has kept LSU out of the final four (well, along with lack of useful experienced depth) is the lack of two way players. watford, thomas, all offense, zero defense smart: good offense, below average D days, decent scorer, decent rebounder leblanc, gaines: no offense, stellar defense. no real players that bring it on both ends. imagine a player with watfords offense and leblancs defense. he would be a lottery pick. they need some two way guys. of course, those guys are very rare. kawhi and jordan come to mind. bulldogs on defense that can create their own shots. the holy grail. "josh leblanc cares about defense, he is the only one" - will wade
