a few reasons. they played a brutal non-conference schedule, and they tend to reload completely every year which means you can sometimes suck early on in the season because you have a bunch of 5 star rookies and transfers that have never met each other. they have played tough opponents like kansas and lost by small margins. for the rest of the season they will be good. you will see. they have the highest rated recruits in the SEC almost every year and have forever.
As far as their brutal non conference schedule, they lost to Kansas & North Carolina. Neither of whom are setting the world on fire.
kansas is a top 10 team. UNC is similar to KY in that they have young stars. LSU was playing southeastern back then
lsu knows they can win playing isolation on inferior talents. they face teams with the same amount of talent and its trouble because the ball does not move enough. also, and i know you guys are not gonna buy this, but i think there has been some real bad luck in the 3 pt dept, both given up and missed.
really bad 3 pt defense and really poor shooting from 3 equals a bad loss to a bad UK team UK is playing at a historically bad level, and although the refs didn’t help we had no answers on d as our offense is our d just not a good basketball team right now. hope they regroup.....
They started out really rough as it was basically a whole new roster. But talent ultimately wins out. Its hard whwn the other guys cant miss. Will needs to defend the arc better.
It’s not a coincidence that they only start making shots against LSU. WW needs to right the ship, two games of bad play; need to keep from spiraling out of control.
It's not bad luck, it's crappy shooters putting up crappy shots. We've put up enough bricks to build a nice fireplace.
