  2. Yeah you can look at it that way. You can also take note that just about every projection had us at 7 BEFORE the SEC tournament that we were a single basket from winning. That doesn't sound like a reason to drop us to 8

  3. I was asked a question by another member. It was polite to answer. Polite seems a foreign concept to you sir, and I do apply the term sir in very nebulous manner.
  4. Projection is exactly that. It's what somebody thinks. I prefer to deal in reality.

  5. Face it. We were screwed. We should have been a 7 but the NCAA hates Will Wade. To reach the final 4 we would have to beat St. Bonaventure, a team that beat St. Louis by 19. We lost to St. Louis. Then Michigan' Florida State and Alabama if chalk holds.

  7. well after you collect your award for most scientific data driven hero, take a look at the SEC standings and see where florida and Tennessee are. also see how florida is behind LSU in the NET, which is supposedly the data they use most. florida got a 7 seed.

the reason the folks projecting the bracket had LSU at 7 or better is because like you, they deal in data and reality .

  8. St. Bonaventure is beatable, as long as the Tigers can match their physicality. Lofton and Osunniyi get most of the attention, but don't sleep on Adaway. Absolutely must run these guys off the 3-point line.

I am speaking with knowledge here as I am a VCU alum and fan (I attended VCU for undergrad, LSU for grad school). VCU went 1-2 vs Bona this year, losing to them yesterday in the A-10 championship game. VCU's best player, Bones Hyland got into early foul trouble (3 fouls in the first 7:00 minutes of the game!) and was a non-factor in the first half. VCU trailed by 7 at halftime. Bones scored 21 points in the second half, but VCU just couldn't match Bona's physicality and their ability to hit three-pointers when they needed them.

For any Tiger fans traveling for this game, beware of Bona fans. They're among the worst in the A-10, a bunch of loud, obnoxious drunks. There's not much going on in the hinterlands of Olean, NY.

Anyway, Geaux Tigers, and pummel these pretenders!
