I know. I felt the same way, then I thought about it. Who is LSU's marquee win? South Carolina? Tennessee? CSF? I think had they beaten Utah, they'd already be ranked. A winnable game against Xavier (let's be real, LSU should have won by 10 instead of lost) could have had LSU in the top 15-20 solidly. But, it's basketball. You won't find much difference in the teams 20-50 or so. Probably even 20-60+.

Unfortunately with our RPI our record isn't enough to cut it.

We beat Tennessee on the road and preseason West favorite Arkansas.

Preseason west favorite was Bama, and we lost.

    Arkansas: 13-6, 1-5

Tennessee: 13-7, 4-2. Not a very good team right now but perhaps their preseason image will help us come selection Sunday. A good win either way.

    RPI:53
    Strength of schedule: 248

We might be a top 25 team and will be ranked soon, but we have done nothing to deserve that ranking at this point.

Fair enough, but Tennessee hasn't shown me much of anything so far this season and somehow still gets props from the college basketball media. Besides, not a whole lot we can do about the SEC being relatively weak this year. 1st in the West has to count for something.

It's because they were highly ranked to begin the year and have multiple national TV games. Now that they have lost four at home and have had their Gameday game, look for them to take a large step back as far as media coverage goes.

Tennessee also has the fourth hardest strength of schedule...we are what, 240 something? Its sucks that the league is down (which prevents us from making a big national move) but we also set ourselves up for this by playing one of the worst out of conference schedules this world has ever seen.

they beat Gtown, Marquette and UF. and all of their losses are to very good teams--gonzaga, memphis, kansas, kentucky (the LSU loss is the worst).

hell, they probably lost to the lakers too.
