so, no physical problems with a horse that shouldve blown away the field. its the only horse to win the first two legs by 4 strides or more and not win the third---and it came in last.

Zero. The horse was worth more to EVERYONE involved if he won. There is no such thing as a sure thing --- especially in horse racing.
