1. Not to mention the "Dalton and James Gang" AKA Dalton Hillard and Gary James.
  2. Bringing back a Nicky Savoie reference, nice.

I went to the same high school as he did, although he was 5 years ahead of me. I remember watching him play in high school, it was funny seeing a big 6'6" lumbering QB throwing passes in high school, but he sure was good back then.

It looks like he's had better days then he has had recently:

  3. Sanders backed up Thomas. Not the other way around.
  4. IMO, Oklahoma State had the best backfield in college football history when they had Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders.
  5. You went to SL?!!! Me too. I was a teammate of Nicky's on the '92-'93 team (my Soph year).

He was good in high school...but do you remember the game when he scrambled in the backfield--trying to make a play on his own, refusing to throw the ball (even though Jo Griffin was practically doing jumping jacks downfield because there were NO DB's back), and ended up with, literally, a 25 yard loss??? :hihi:

Judging by your screen name, I can only try to figure out your identity.... Was your nickname "T-Shell" back then??
  6. But they were never on the field at the same time and not used too much in the same games. In the context of this debate Gundy should also be mentioned, I think he set numerous OSU passing records Thomas' senior season.

One of my favorite backfields to watch was the Auburn backfield that had Joe Cribbs, James Brooks and Lionel "Little Train" James with William Andrews as the blocking back. Anyone remember who their QB was back then. Andrews was sensational in the NFL until he blew out his kness.
  7. I'll put $1,000-RIGHT NOW-on Jason Campbell NOT getting drafted in the 2nd round.

    You down?
  8. In 2003 Auburn had two GREATS in their backfield -

Chad Lavalais and Marcus Spears :hihi:
  9. Amen to that. Quite easily, imo.
  10. Eric Dickerson and Craig James, SMU.

You did say the highest paid backfield didn't you ?

    :hihi:
