    All of these are great to listen to in his own right. Many bands have good guitar licks but I don't know how the performer does on his own. That's why I went with other namely Carlos Santana.

    I would have put Carlos Santana in the poll if I had thought about it. There are a lot of great ones I'm sure I left out. I started to include blues players like BB, Freddy and Albert King and Buddy Guy but I thought that might be a subject for a separate poll.

    I had to vote "other" I think Joe Satriani blows those guys away.

    Just as I was about to post this.....

    My opinion is probably biased though after seeing Joe Satriani live. The sounds he can make with a guitar.... GREAT guitar player!

    Hendrix, hands down in my opinion. He could bring sounds out of a guitar that you didn't think were possible.
