Unfortunately after going to a few Tennessee games when Tennessee would beat Bama in Knoxville the above song makes my ears hurt. Sweet home Alabama is by far Lynyrd Skynrds worst song in mu opinion. Furthermore I believe its about the whole state of alabama, whereas Rocky Top refers to a specific geographic region in Tennessee, more specifically the rocky mountains around Knoxville, Tennessee.
I agree .... Simple Man was a much better song. Sweet Home Alabama was just a jab at Neil Young for his song running the State in the ground.
There are sooo many that I hate- Rocky Top and the union fight song of Glory, Glory lead the list. Well done UGA, well done /sacarasm. LSU's fight songs are just fine with me.
