I dont really remember this being posted before.... so I ask this question: Who, in your opinion is our/your biggest, or most hated rival? In my opinion... I would have to be lefire: ..... personally I just cant stand them. Half of this might be that tons of my family are Ole Miss fans in the first place..... but for whatever reason, I just hate em' :angryfire :angryfire
That's a hard one to answer. Really you could say that all of the SEC are our rivals. But.. I don't think the rivalry between Ole Miss and LSU is as heated as it once was, but we still don't like them none the less. We have reasons for not liking Alabama and Florida. But right now I would say the biggest rival is Auburn.
well.... a lot of my hatred of ole miss comes from a few "incidences" when I traveled to Oxford last year... but in no way am I saying that I dont dislike auburn, bama, florida, georgia....... Wait a minuite, I believe you are right. I really dont like any other team in the SEC....
IMO, usually a heated rivalry is started because both teams take a fair share of @$$ whoopens from each other. That said, I'd go with Alabama because of that long streak of beating us in Tiger Stadium.
None of the teams that we conider our biggist rival will consider us their biggest rival, IMO AU - Alabama Ole Miss - MSU WE lack the two major school in one state thing so its hard to have that type of rivalry.
I'm a little older and grew up during the Tulane/LSU years. I know most here don't consider Tulane a real rival for us anymore, but those games were often very heated. And even though LSU has a lopsided advantage in wins, that never kept the game from being an interesting contest. Most years at Tulane it was good enough to just beat LSU, and in many ways that is a true rival. Anyway, in this new era I'd say Ole Miss, AU, FL, and Ark are our rivals.
That's why I think Tulane is still our biggest rival. Although that rivalry's kind of dead. I miss it, tho. Liked fighting for the rag.
It would be nice for Tulane to actually be a rival. But Ole Miss and Auburn and Florida have other schools they consider their true rival. Aren't they trying to make LSU and Arkansas a rivalry with the boot trophy and the game played at the end of the year? Arkansas since they don't play Texas every year lacks a yearly rival.
