Not good ones. This incident has gotten headlines, but kidnappings are common in tribal warfare. Hell, in Rwanda, women and children were macheted to death. In the long run, these problems can only be solved by the people themselves. Sending in Americana and British security and intelligence experts is about all we can do without making the matter worse. We can't because that sort of thing doesn't happen here. As a nation, we have established a social order with laws that almost everyone respects. Emerging countries must get beyond their tribal xenophobia and stone-age customs themselves. Outsiders can do little to help them if they don't really want it. Possibly, but new leaders just arise. When a nation is split almost equally in this manner, compromises are difficult.
You know, it's hard to tell them from the dozen other tribal militias and they hide among civilians. Why haven't we just killed every single member of al Qaeda? Because it is impossible.
