Extremely common and perfectly safe for Boosters

to continue helping recruits and their families ... as long as common sense prevails and things are done in a reasonably legitimate manner

Most common is the SWEET SUMMER JOB IN THE OILPATCH for big $$$ ...
perfectly legitimate ... happens all the time

And the recruit has a family that needs a job ... needs a car ... THE KID COMMITTS ... IT TAKES ONE PHONE CALL ... and the network gets rolling to support the latest edition to the LSU family ... No one can prove anything and everything is heresay ... LSU is out of the loop ... Friends helping new Friends!

You get the picture ... LSU guys like the ex-Recruiting Coordinator (NCAA has killed this position) or whoever in the program finds out ... they quickly put a lid on it ... LSU never finds out about 99% of the **** that goes on ... and what little they do know they kill quickly ... and every other major program in America is doing the same ...

Now when you get stupid and pull a "FAT ALBERT MEANS" like Bama did and stick your 325 # azz out in the afternoon sunshine in a bidding war for a greedy and stupid prospect (with family) ... everyone gets to see ... and you get busted

Naive people think this isn't widespread in College FB ... just like cheating on your income tax

Trivia Question: What is the statute of limitations on illegal activities by Boosters? :D

LSU's Teflon clean, Baby :thumb: ... rolling along!

Here's a good example of what wonderful boosters ...

... in league with THE UNIVERSITY ... AND LOWLIFE AUBURN HAS THE NERVE TO GET AFTER ALABAMA ... read this ...

LET AUBURN 'SPLAIN HOW BROOKS MADE IT THROUGH COLLEGE ... ILLITERATE ...

    http://www.studentnow.com/sports/braggingrights/pressure.html

College football has long had a reputation for being "dirty." The charge: that players are exploited for their athletic ability and then tossed aside after three or four years, without much of an education or a degree. Recently, former Auburn star James Brooks was arrested for failure to make child support payments. When Brooks appeared before a judge to defend himself, he explained that he had no money for child-support payments because he couldn't hold a job. And the reason he couldn't hold a job? His explanation was a shocker: he was illiterate. Brooks had graduated from high school, spent four years at Auburn-during which time he became the school's third leading all-time rusher»and yet he could not read or write. He'd essentially been granted a free pass through Auburn because he could tote the football.

Auburn, embarrassed by the incident, has offered to re-educate Brooks.

 ... They can start with "Hooked on Phonics" ...

The Brooks incident is a blatant case where a truly dirty school (Auburn) worked with boosters to aid in the success of their FB program.

This does not happen at LSU ... where blatant crap is now discouraged ... as it should be ... but boosters will continue to do what they want without the knowledge of LSU

Here's another Bad University ... Ohio State ... Tressel was involved in crap over Maurice Clarett and ex-players Robert Smith and Ray Isaac (1991 QB) ... Tressel allegedly :hihi: that's a gasser hooked up these guys and scores of others with boosters (money and cars ... the usual suspects) ...

    The OSU $100 handshake

    So what! Who got hurt?

When a coach or player knowingly is involved ... that's bad ... and dumb!

When friends help friends ... after signing day :hihi: Who cares! The NCAA can't prove a thing

If you donate money to the university, you're a booster. When I joined TAF, I received a packet specifically referring to being a booster and rules and regulations (can't give money or gifts to players, etc.)

there are boosters and there are BOOSTERS.
