Rose Bowl to replace Ohio State and USC (if they win out). If USC wins out, Michigan is automatic as #3 in BCS. The Rose Bowl would then pick both of its replacements before anyone else gets to pick anyone. Michigan is automatic. Then I would think LSU will be picked should we still be in the running for a BCS berth (there is still a chance LSU is totally shut out with the right combo of teams winning/losing - see the BCS thread). Last problem we must avert is California finishing #14 or higher in BCS. Texas' loss hurts. Boston College's loss hurt last night. California is now #16 in BCS (altho Tennessee winning over Kentucky boosts them past Cal in BCS and puts Cal back to #17). This issue with Cal is all of a sudden getting a little dicey. Rose would like a PAC 10 team to play Michigan if at all possible, and Cal may just be that opponent. Sucks, but it is what it is. Teams to root for (4 of these 6 need to occur) to prevent Cal from getting to #14: Oklahoma winning out Rutgers winning out Georgia Tech winning out Virginia Tech winning Tennessee winning Boise State winning Of course we are also hoping for Boise State to lose to prevent them from getting an automatic berth, so we have diametrically opposing outomes there (ain't this all a bitch?).
