In the mid to late '80's LSU, UNO, Northeast, Tech, and Southern were regulars to the tournament.

Conference tournaments are going to have the last word regarding SLU and ULL.

If LSU goes oh-and two this week, everything gained last week is shot. One of the sports books in Vegas has LSU at 150-1 to win it all, the field pick is 12-1. Duke, at 12-1 is the favorite (and someone explain that one to me. Did anyone see Duke play on the road lately?).

i think it was LSU, La Tech, UNO and Northeast and maybe one more because i rememeber UNO a 14th seed came close to beating Kansas in the first round.

    LSU got drummed by UCONN.

Although it is easily talked about by us, try telling our players, "okay guys, we have no chance of beating the #1 seed, so lets lose a game and then we will not have to play them until the great eight."
This will be useful in the NFL as well. "Lose every game guys and we get Matt Leinhart with the 1st pick in the draft next year."

I know, I know. But I always pull for LSU even though I know in the back of my mind that it makes no difference on the outcome of the game.

About the draft thing--why do you think the nba has the lottery?

Patrick Ewing to the Knicks... David Stern really blew in letting Lebron go to Cleveland.

Damn right you are, my friend. I'm definitely part of the group that's amazed and confused by fans who demand excellence in all other major sports at LSU save for one.

I'd give you some more positive rep but I can't. Good post. :thumb:
