Now now... Lets make sure everyone understands I was joking big time when i said that. Mostly poking fun at some of those people who always put a negative spin on LSU basketball.

Joking or not, the point of your comment is a good one. Why do many readily settle for mediocrity in basketball? With our resources in state and lack of another major university in Louisiana, there is absolutely no reason why we should be competing for a top 4 seed in a bracket every year.

OK. I've had enough of this stupidity. How can we avoid "settling" for what the LSU basketball program is or has become? What exactly can we, as fans, do to avoid "settling" for what is? Do we recruit? Do we hire/fire coaches? Do we coach?
We can be happy, sad, angry, disappointed, apathetic, enthusiastic or any other emotion, but can we affect the status quo? Don't say "well, we can express our displeasure by not going to the games". If that worked, Brady would have been gone 2 years ago.
Frankly, I would "settle" for the current state of the BB team if I had a choice. But I don't.

As an aside, TE has been conspicuously absent from the basketball threads during this winning streak. I'm sure he's hoping for a Bama win tonight so he can get back on his high horse.

The saddest comment is from polls: Texas a$m gets more votes than LSU. Granted, the RPI rips 'em a new one for playing Trinity, et al, but it just guts me seeing a$m ahead of us in BASKETBALL. Have they ever been to a final 32?

    Texas A&M
    Record: 14-7
    Power Rating: 83.515
    Ranking: 52

    0-5 v #1-25
    1-1 v #26-50
    4-0 v #51-100
    0-1 v #101-200
    9-0 v #201-330

beat UH at home, Texas at home. all other wins suck.
close losses @ Kansas & OSU,and against OU at home

but on a whole not as good of a resume as lsu. lsu should definately be ranked much higher. especially when they are 2-3 in last 5 with no real road win to speak of

i think everybody likes their coach. he followed Self around then turned around UTEP. its his first year and they want a cinderella story.

Pardon the very liberal paraphase, the turn around job at a$m is undeniable. It's the fact it's texas a$m. Geeze, the friggin' aggie$!

Polls have absolutely no meaning in college basketball... ZERO... its the football mindset that gets people interested in them to begin with. Focus on RPI, SOS to get a feel how a team is doing.

Also, based on all the bitching about our schedule the last few years.. wouldnt we all rather be at about 100 SOS instead of 30 and have about 4 more wins right now.. you can't win for losing I guess. Although I would much rather have a good schedule to watch.

Be on the lookout for TE in his Rammer Jammer shirt tonight.

I think the ideal situation for LSU is to be a 7 seed or the 10 seed in the bracket that Kansas is the 2 seed in.

Or to be the 8 or 9 in the bracket than BC or Okla St is the #1 seed.

But bottom line is: Just win baby![IMG]
