1. Rumors have been pretty hot for a month or so about this deal getting done.

Main rumors involve giving up Salty. The only problem I with this is Tex will be a free agent after next year. However, McCann is locked up so catcher isn't a need.

Personally, I would like a pitcher for Salty but a lineup with Texeria is nasty looking.

    Clair, anyone...thought?

BTW, I of course mean Teixeira. Don't really do the spell check thing.
  2. i wouldn't do it unless a contract extension comes with it, and even then I would be hesitant, because BorASS is his agent.

I would get a lesser 1B like a Conine, and then get some bullpen help.

we have scored more runs than the Mets this year... by quite a bit, too. they just pitch better than we do consistently.
  3. I wish the Braves all the worst.
  4. you mean, like the Astros for instance?
    1 person likes this.
  5. I don't see the problem. Houston traded for Jennings knowing he'd be a free agent after this year. And that's worked out okay. :hihi:
  6. the braves have to get an absolute monster if they move saltyralphmacchio. an offensive force behind the plate is a win-generator. what are there, 6 guys in baseball that generate runs from the catcher position? no way you trade him for tex.

they should get a philip hughes/homer bailey type player for salty.
  7. I think they should try and get this done. The braves keep a few veterans, and try to win with a lot of young guys. A. Jones is gone next year, so why not add another veteran with a bat for another year.
  8. because next year, they would lose texieria, too, and by next year, Salty may be a beast.
  9. a couple sources are reporting that the braves made the offer of salty and a couple other dudes i never heard of. i take it in a second if i am texas.
  10. And the Rangers should be all too familiar with great hitting catchers.
