But seriously, what is Smoke doing now? It seems like he'd easily be able to grab another head coaching job at a mid-major where baseball isn't important. Kinda like how basketball is here. Say what you will about the guy, he did have the highest percentage of SEC wins when he was here. Take from that what you will. If the damn guy wasn't so lazy and un-charismatic, he'd be a decent coach. Of course he did have CTT who as everyone knows is an excellent recruiter and a pretty damn good hitting coach.
He lives in Denham Springs and I know him and Bertman are not on speaking terms last time I heard. Skip and his wife were devestated about having to cut him loose and the way Smoke took it as a personal attack.
I guess LSU is still paying him money since we fired him. If he was to get another job we would only pay the difference b/t his salary here and his new one.
I guess that the folks who defended Smoke Laval's ability were dead wrong . . . the "dead" being the Greatness of LSU Baseball.
