Anyone remember how we use to run that bubble screen with Skyler Green when Jimbo was here ? That was a very effective play. I would LOVE to see R. Sheppard catch that lil screen pass and see what he could do with it. Did we lose that sheet in the playbook when GC got here ?? Oh and by the way I'm new here, so be easy on me...

I think you mean the slip-screen/jail-break screen, but yeah that play is money.

Is this the play you are talking about?

I don't know why they didn't use it last year with Shepard. Bring it back. Should be very effective

I think LSU will have to establish a 20 yard passing game before that play becomes all that effective. This is the season to do it, though. And I have hopes that JJ will let a few fly and not worry so much about having a J. Lee kind of season. If he does that, and RR and TT catch some balls - then the CBs and Safeties will play a bit softer, and you'll see that bubble screen make them pay!

yeah, thats the one, I would love to see it again, it creates open space and RS would be DANGEROUS out there !!!!!

The play was a good trick, and I think it would be good to bring it back. However, it can't be every game, in the same quarter, with the same substituted players brought in at those positions for the same one play. In other words, it's a trick play. Treat it like one:geaux:

Great...now every time Russell Shepard comes into the game, the opposing DCs are gonna have a field day because we just telegraphed the play to them.

    Nice going new guy !!!.

SEC Defenses kind of caught up with the bubble screen. I think it is still effective at times, especially against slower teams. But even State is speedy these days in the SEC.

Of course, there are other ways to get the ball quickly into Shepards hands. I want to see all of them this year . . . and a bubble screen from time to time to keep the honest.

Bowe was the master of the slip screen. Can't believe we could run it 2 or 3 times a game and still be effective.
