1. I have heard from friends and on this forum about how good the burgers were at Bud's Broiler but I had never tried one. Yesterday I had to go to Veterans Blvd and I stopped at a Bud's. I was skeptical at first because the building looked run down and there was even a big hole in their plastic sign. I got a #4 with hickory sauce and I have to give it an A+ rating in the fast food hamburger category. Three thubs up. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The fries were pretty bland though. Two thumbs down on the fries.:dis: :dis:

Hey Brett! Can you add a thumbs down smiley on here?
  2. #4 Chili & Cheese ... Root Beer and a homemade peach pie ... damn good

  3. Almost my thoughts exactly! "Don't get no better'an that!"

If I might expand just a wee bit...

#4 Chili, sauce, onions and cheese...fries...root beer...and a homemade peach pie w/powdered sugar
  4. where is this place?
  5. New Orleans:

    Westbank (on Lapalco I think)
    Metairie (on Vets)
City Park (across the street from Delgado)

Also may still be one near UNO?
  6. Yeah, I think there is one by UNO. I also remember seeing another one in Metairie (on Causeway??) It's in that mall area near the insurance place with the giant statue that looks like Robert Goulet with a crown.
  7. I went to the one in Metarie on Veterans across the street from a Home Depot.
  8. Go with the Chili-Cheese fries next time. Makes a huge difference. And I totally agree that as fast food burgers go, there aren't too many places that can rival Buds. The Broiler Pups are pretty good, too!
  9. The Bud's at City Park has a quirky old ambience to go with their awesome burgers. You are right about the fries: just plain awful. But the burgers are just about the best.
On a side note, some of you know all too well that I continually complain about the bland food here in Virginia. It has gotten worse: all of the Popeye's in the Richmond area closed last month.
  10. Old Bay just doesn't do it like Zatarain's...
