  3. They can take some of the slot money from other draftees and add it to the offer for a player while offering other players less than their slot value. Surprising how it went down because Cairo's dad is a former major leaguer and you would think his family doesn't have to have the money.

  4. ohhh, so if a draftee turns down an offer, then they can spread his slot money around?
  5. I don't think so. I think if a pick doesn't sign the team loses the ability to spend that money but if a pick signs for less than his slot value the team can add it to their offer for another player.

  9. I admit right off the bat (bad pun intended) that I know very little about how all of this works, so I'm curious about why a pick would sign for less if he knows his slot value?

  10. If he is a senior he wouldn't have another choice. Or a latin player who will take anything for a shot at the bigs. Could be high school players too dumb to go to college.
