1. My mom got kind of fragile in her mid-70's and could no longer safely lift the dutch oven and the big skillet, so I got to inherit them early. But she used the small cast iron frying pan to bake corn bread for the rest of her life.

So . . . you may get to inherit the heavy pieces early, and you can have Mom and the cast iron! :thumb:
  2. I found some in Houma which had 9 qt and up (Davidson's Hardware, True Value Hardware, Richard's Rest. Supply). But i was looking for a smaller, 3 to 5qt, to cook barbeque beans on the grill. I found one at Academy. 5 qt by Lodge, which i looks like pretty good quality & seasoned ready.

I'm considering getting a 7-9 qt to cook with. Although, i'm weighing whether the added time with maintaining the pot would be worth it. The 5 qt i'm only gonna use only about 6x a year.

  3. If I remember, I'll stop by Klondyke Hardware on my way home tomorrow.
I know they carry all the burners and crawfish pots and stuff like that.
That's about the only other place around here I can think to look (Davidson was easily my 1st thought).
  4. Man come on there is nothing like rubbing your own pot with oil!

Ok have fun you dirty minded people!
  5. And you called Tirk a sick individual...
