That doesn't sound right. A torn meniscus is usually a few weeks at best.

Must have screwed something else up in that knee. It usually does not involve surgery, just rest and strengthening/rehab.

If you're gonna have any kind of injury to the knee, then this is the best one to have as far as down time goes. Next is the PCL.
  2. Re: Janzen Jackson

It's actually not a torn meniscus. It's a birth defect, and someone called it a "flipped meniscus". What I heard anyway, for what it's worth.

I asked around and heard that depending on the severity that rehab of the meniscus takes almost as long as an ACL or MCL. Usually 3 weeks or so of rest is recommended before rehab can start. However, if the meniscus is removed it only takes weeks to recover.
  4. Re: Janzen Jackson

He will have surgery tomorrow. His knee locked up in practice today.

It will be 6-8 weeks of rehab. Nothing crazy.

He'll be just fine. Definitely will be ready by summer.

Poor kid, hopefully he'll be fine.
